Day Six of Ragbrai XXXV

Independence to Dyersville

Well here we are on Friday getting ready to leave another great host family. We always need a team picture before we go. This is a great one, because the PsycoMutts and Team Hot spent the night with us.

Here is Team Hot and DraftQueen getting ready for another day of riding with friends. How can you not like this!

Up the driveway to the route. Can you tell we did not want to leave our host family!!!

With our tail between our legs, we walk up to the route to start another day.

The view in Iowa is not all about the corn, it's about a hearty and healthy way of life.

We were suppose to meet someone at the corn field on the right!!!!! But they never showed!!!!! Is it the right corn field? How many could there be on the right in Iowa!!!!!!

Here we are off route again!!!!! The Dogs lov to go off route to find great towns to be in.

Here is Capt.Kurt - helping the lady at the town Post Office put up the flag for the day.

We went into this restaurant, and found the owner having difficulties dealing with the number of people in his restaurant. So Team Sniff took over and helped with the drinks from behing the bar. Holiday (from TeamSniff) became the waitress, and a couple of the dogs went into the back to help prep the food orders.

SaltyDog took over the food orders in the back.

We took time out with the owners to say hi to the camera and then back to the food orders. From left to right, The owner and his friend, ButtDr (GoFer), Holiday (Waitress), and SaltyDog (Head Chef).

We hate to leave great towns, but we also know there is another great town a head of us.

You cannot find better towns than in Iowa. They open up their arms for you and make you feel welcome.

Here is BooBoo in Manchester. Dogs like to enjoy every town we go through on Ragbrai.

As you can see, they really go all out to make you feel welcome in every town in Iowa.

And if you need to stop for a cup of fresh lemonade, there is always a great stand along the way for you to do that.

I thought we might get a little moisture out of this storm, but it blew over and the sun came out.

Maybe this was the corn field on the right that we were suppose to stop and pick up a friend.

Bingo!!!!! Here it is! And there is BooBoo - We knew we would find him.

Another great shot Cammy took to remind us of our time in Iowa on Ragbrai XXXV.

As we set up our tents in Independence, there was this great church that looked to be overlooking our tents.

Inside the church was awesome! This was a gorgeous church. As you can see, many visitors took advantage of the church on a Friday evening.

After dinner we all went to the fire pit and spend a couple of hours just enjoying the night together.

Here is a nice picture of the PsycoMutts with us at the fire pit.

What a great day, and end to that great day.

No one wanted the day to end because it was another great Ragbrai Day!
